Our Founder.
Amanda (Sellinger) Lombardi , M.Ed.
Founder & Lead Consultant
Rooted in the vision of Partnering for Belonging, Connection & Classrooms that Feel Like Home, my work centers on helping schools build the relationships, systems, and supports that allow students and educators to grow and succeed. With over fifteen years of experience in public and charter schools, I believe meaningful learning begins with safety, trust, and strong relationships.
I began my career as an elementary school teacher before serving as a Restorative Practices Coordinator, leading schoolwide implementation of community circles, responsive behavior systems, and trauma-responsive practices that strengthened student belonging and reduced punitive discipline. These experiences shaped my commitment to helping schools create supportive, skill-building environments for all learners.
Through Rooted in Harmony Consulting, I partner with schools across New Jersey and Washington, D.C. to strengthen culture and climate, redesign behavior systems, and create relationship-centered environments through restorative approaches. My work focuses on shifting from punitive responses to practices that build skills, connection, and community — and supporting school leaders and staff in bringing that vision to life.
Coaching Philosophy
My approach to professional learning is relational, practical, and grounded in each school’s priorities. I provide hands-on, embedded coaching that moves beyond one-time workshops—offering real-time modeling, actionable feedback, and strategic support that helps teams translate restorative practices and Responsive Classroom principles into daily routines in authentic, sustainable ways.
I aim to help educators build the confidence, skills, and structures needed to cultivate classroom and school cultures where every student feels safe, supported, and valued.
